Cold Spun Lace Weight

For whatever reason, I really struggle getting lace weight out of my wheel. But when it comes to a drop spindle…it doesn’t seem to be a problem. But man…drop spinning enough lace weight for something usable and pretty? I don’t think I have the fortitude.

With a PrismaColor for perspective, of course!

This is actually some scrub roving I have that arrived partially felted (grrrrrrrr). I managed to pre-draft it out a bit, but it was a major pain in the keister. But the color ended up being just lovely (hrm…maybe that’s why I bought the roving in the first place) with subtle grays and greens spread through out the icy blue. Looking at this pic, it tempts me to play tug-o-war with the rest of the fiber. Maybe I’ll wait until I feel like I don’t have enough frustration in my life.
